After the success of ‘V-Star’, a project initiated by Abbot Phrarajabhavanawisut for revitalizing virtue within the student population of Thailand, many supporters hoped to see a similar project designed specifically for non-Thai audiences. They wanted these benefits to become available to an international audience, and so evolved the ‘Peace Revolution’.
However, instead of the hand-written hard-copy journal used during the Thai program, the Peace Revolution Project Development Team designed a new one to be used on the internet for global access. Each ‘Peace Rebel’, or participant, is asked to engage in meditation or inner peace time, understand and practice daily codes of ethical conduct, and gradually complete a 42 day self-development course. The training course is based on principles and moral standards that aid in increasing a person’s happiness and awareness of his/her relationships with others: particularly those personal characteristics dealing with respect, discipline, and patience.
The self-development exercises are designed to be universally acceptable because they are not based on culture, race, creed, gender or religion. In fact, anyone can participate while still upholding his or her own faith. The Peace Revolution’s hope is to help everyone realize and develop the goodness that is within each person. When this happens, humanity will naturally unite as one, just as there is one single sun in the sky. Through this inner revolution, we will all experience the true understanding of what it means to be at peace with ourselves and with those around us. By this steady but sure method, sustainable world peace will emerge as a result of our profound individual inner peace. Interested? Then check out www.peacerevolution2010.org.
